Just installed ThermalRIGHT SI-97

Well I overclocked and needed more than stock cooling, so I just installed a Thermaltake SI-97 with a Paniflo 92mm fan, med flow.

I have an AMD xp 1800 Thoroughbred, running at 190FSB and 11X, and a Vcore of 1.75 according to MBM, although it is set at 1.70 in the bios.

My stock heatsink was lapped and had a loud 80mm fan with the same flow as the much quieter 92mm Paniflo I used on the si-97. This dropped the temp 5C over the stock fan at stock speed.

RESULTS:
MB Temp-26

HEATSINK-----IDL TEMP---LOAD TEMP
Stock AMD--------43-------------58-----
SI-97---------------35-------------44-----

This is without lapping, and using the supplied copper shim. I might try to lapping and replacing the shim with some foam pans, but I don?t know yet.

I will be installing the same 92mm fan in the exhaust, and a couple new low flow 80mm fans on the intake of the case, and am going to make a little shroud for the exhaust so that is suck the air fro under the heatsink, instead of sucking from the area of the HS fan.

DUHHH 😱

I wat thinking RIGHT
and typed, well you know what I typed 😕

I must have been overcome with the joy of reduced temps.😀
