Just installed new X2 4400+! Now how do I know this thing is working?

Task manager only shows one core. Is there any way to see both cores?

Also, what can I throw at this thing to break it in? Is there any benchmark software that will use both cores?

Thanks,

You may have to go to the performance tab, hit "view" and then CPU History... make sure "one graph per CPU" is checked. After that, install two copies of Prime95 in separate folders... run both copies, then go to the processes tab, right click each of them and set their affinity to each of the CPU's (0 & 1)

your task manager should show two graphs under CPU usage history AND, it's also 50% per core for the cpu usage. Use two instances of Prime95 to test your cores. You need an updated version of bios if you can't see the two cores. Also, you can use cpuz and there should be a window selection thing near the bottom saying cpu 1 or cpu2

Did you update your bios? Did you change your hardware abstraction layer?

I've got the latest final release BIOS from ASUS.

What the heck is a "hardware abstraction layer"?
