Just Installed New System

Well, I just finish installing my new system which during the process lost all all 40GB data.. I believe its the Maxtor 66-100 UDMA utility update and can't retrieve back using recovery software.

Anyway, this is my configuration and I am jsut wondering what I need to do to "optimise" the system.

AMD 1800+
Epox KHA+
ATI All In WOnder Radeon
Creative Audigy Plat.
NetGear 311 NIC

I had downloaded the 4in1 VIA driver, ATI driver, flash to the latest BIOS. Whatelse shold I do?

I normally go into BIOS and make sure all video shadowing is disabled followed by making sure system bios cacheable is disabled as well,normally set AGP aperture size to 64mb or 128mb and ram settings you should be able to use turbo settings(if you get problems then back off to fastest or fast/normal settings) I also make sure if you are using your own sound card that onboard sound is disabled in bios ,and game port and Midi port address are also disabled as well.
