Ok I just installed a new SLK948u with a 92mm Vantec Tornado fan. Its running about 32 idle and 50 full load. Is that good for the AMD64, ive noticed it drop probably 7-8 degrees celsius since ive switched off my SIlent Boost k8. However, is 50 degrees good for the Slk948u, and will I see a noticable drop in temps during my thermal break in period?

how much was all that becuase my ZALMAN CNPS7000A-Cu on my P4 (northwood) isnt cuttin the mustard in my opinion. so im thinkin i return it (fry's) and try another solution to see hwo it works out. Though i belive P4's run hotter that AMD64's, but im not srue.

40 bucks for the heatsink, i think like 10 for the fan from newegg. Just be careful with this fan, its like a small dustbuster, its loud...if you dont have a fan controller its gonna be rough.

50C seems pretty high for the slk948u combined with a Tornado... and you're not even overclocking, correct? However 50C definitely is an acceptable temperature.
