Just installed drivers for HPT366 on Soyo 6ba+IV and now no option to enable DMA on HDD?

I just installed the latest drivers for the HPT366 ATA/66 controller on my Soyo SY-6BA+IV, and now I don't have an option in device manager to enable DMA on my Quantum Fireball Plus KA HDD. This same setting on my Kenwood CD-Rom won't stay enabled either. I wonder if it is already enabled on my HDD? I don't know about my CD-Rom though. Any help would be appreciated.😕

I believe when your using the HighPoint drivers, they overtake and control the transfer options. No option is avaiable because it is automatically set and detected by the High Points. There was some info about this somewhere at the High Point site. I am going back from memory so that is the basic summary as I remember it.

4824guy is correct. It's set by default when you install the highpoint drivers. There may be a utility on the motherboard CD that lets you turn DMA on and off (like the VIA drivers)...I'm not sure though.

Nice board you got Gription, love mine.

4824guy is absolutely correct.

As for Durron's suggestion, there's no setting in the BIOS that I know of to turn DMA on or off.
