Bios 1004. 1Ghz Tbird(100mhz), 512mb crucial pc133 cas 2-2-2 is my config.

Questions:
Does the pci divider automatically set itslef when you up the FSB or is there a setting for that?
What does VIO test mode do? Does it allow you to change the VIO in the bios?

OCing tips from people with this mobo please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm running at 144 x 7.5 right now. I think my ram can go higher but i'm having post issues. I've tested the chip up to 1176mhz so it's not the limiting factor.

thanks

the divider is auto set

when you use FSB more than 120 the divider is set to 1/4 automatically

i have no idea what is the test mode do for the Vio

i am running 3.3v and no problem so far

my generic ram just can't handle more than 145 at 222 :(

thanks....

someone please help me get past 144fsb!!!!!

Things I've tried:
removing all pci devices leaving only my AIW radeon.
switching around + out my two sticks of 256mb crucial pc133 cas 2-2-2 ram.
changing the VIO up and down and setting ram to 3-3-3
disabling agp 4x, optimal performance setting.

BTW when I set it to 150 and reboot I just get a black screen. HD still spins up. Does that mean it's my memory?

This memory should be able to do 150 cas 3-3-3 right? I mean it's doing 140 @ 2-2-2 just fine.

what's wrong???

thanks

You can try setting the Vcore with the Vcore jumpers if you are OCing, if you use the Vcore jumpers just leave it as auto in the BIOS.. you can still leave the board on jumperless and keep doing everything else in jumperless mode.

It can be because it changes the CPU speed before it changes the Vcore.

ok i just did what you said dulanic. I set it to 1.825/1.85 via the jumpers and left it at auto in the bios and I still get the same result.

I guess I'll try taking off the northbridge and applying some artic silver while seeing which week chip I got. Can you tell me the numbers on your chip?

I'm starting to think my mobo just sucks.

thanks

Just poping in and being the voice of reality, but it is possible that your system cannot handle such as high FSB, 150 is fairly high, and running PCI devices at 37.5Mhz is risky. So you may have to settle with the fact that you can't run your system that high. Yes, yes I know... it's not good news but theres got be some voice of reasoning ;)

i can post at 150 CAS222 but my ram is not up to par.

and the performance at 150 CAS222 is way less than 154@cas222 now

so i rather keep it at 145,

i am waiting for my infineon and i will push this baby higher than 150

will give you guys some good news later on

anyway, pci at 37.5 is not a problem i think, i used to run 113FSB on my Pro2-A and it was 37.6 and nothing happened to me

Davegod: did you try 150 @ 222 or 333??

if you did not try 333, just give it a try.

i think Micron dimm is max out around 145 or so.

i was trying 150 at 3-3-3. I was figuring since it did 144@ 2-2-2 it could do 150 at 2-2-2

i dun think so

Micron chip is not very good at 150

i have a friend who has Micron CAS2 and he can only go up to 147CAS222 only

Sounds like you have a crappy Northbridge to me. My A7V133 would only do 142FSB before it crapped out. However I can run 150FSB on my KK266.

well i dunno why i didn't think of this earlier but to test whether it was the memory or fsb I upped the fsb to 150 and set the memory at the 7ns(143mhz) setting under chip configuration (because it's been running fine at that anyways). Not to my surprise it wouldn't boot. So I think I can say I have gotten a crappy northbridge.
