i did this about a year ago, when i was crazy about blue LEDs. anyway, i believe i got a 3000 MCD one (not you mrcodedude). and replaced my red logitech scroll mouse optical. it looked pretty cool, but the tracking was horrible. i ended up replacing the blue one with the red LED. i guess it has something to do with wavelength. or it probably wasnt bright enough, even though 3000 mcd was mighty bright. or it was just the mouse. anyway, i might try it with my wireless memorex mouse later, COOL PROJECT MAN!

There was a post about LED brightness, they say that the Red LED is about 2500mcd in the Microsoft mice, When I put this 6000mcd LED in my mouse it works better than before. I can scroll my mouse across the screen without it jumping around.

just becareful not to buy from hosfelt electronics because they will charge you 7 dollars for shipping a tiny LED... You read Zclyh3
we both got ripped off on shipping. Green would look tight in the mouse, that or super white. Just look for an LED with at least 5000mcd brightness or higher then your mouse will work better

Hmm.. I don't think Microsoft has a blue LED wireless mouse :( Might make me want to get a Microsoft mouse though.

not blue led... blue mouse

Hmm.. That would go well with my Dragon Blue Chieftec case :)

Any chance on a "how to it" guide?

Everything on my computer has blue LEDs now. Keyboard, optical mouse, LEDs on computer...CD-ROM drives. All blue LEDs. But I have one question though. On my Lite-On CDRW, I have a 3-color LED that was red, amber, and green. It is an 3 pin LED. Most LED have 2 pins. My friend told me that if I had installed a 2 pin LED, the blue LED might flash during only during reading, and not during burning or VICE versa. What do I do? Where can I find a blue LED with 3 pins?

Oh yeah...if you DO buy from Hosfelt Electronics, make sure you get your shipping's moneys worth. $7.24 for a damn LED is fu*king weak.

Digikey search results for 3 pin led. Lots of results.

Haven't seen any myself in there, yet.
