Just Installed 512mb pc2100 DDR Ram

and my computer doesn't seem all that much faster. I used to have 128mb and replaced it w/ the value RAM from Kingston. What exactly does RAM do?

Load up a pile of programs and see how much faster it is.

Some games will really get a kick out of the extra RAM. I had 512MB, which was fine for everything I did except the occasional game of Desert Combat, which was just jerky. When I upgraded to 1GB, DC smoothed out.

Battlefield 1942 definitely likes the extra 512 I put in.

You probably won't notice much of a difference if your computer is running Windows 98 or ME. If you have Windows XP, you should notice a significant difference.
