Well computers can do this also without a need for the game cartridges...;)

Eh I'd much rather use my PC with the controller of my choice than that thing.

Knock-offs still have compatibility issues, compared to the real thing. If you already have an SNES and NES, I wouldn't bother.

Not since all the Nintendo ROM sites got shut down by the ESA. That is unless you don't mind taking a gamble in the more seedy parts of the internet.

there are these cool things called "torrents" that kinda avoid the whole searching around the shady internet for roms..

Aside from the viruses and vulgar porn that's hidden in torrent streams, yeah, I'd say they're perfectly safe.

lol ok, considering that since I posted that I've found multiple clean links to every US released SNES rom I'm not too concerned about their safety. I've also never had porn hidden in my torrents(bonus!), and an anti-virus program takes care of any other issues.
