I have discovered a lot of slow framerates in demos, and I get the impression that other people with similar or weaker powered sytems to me, are getting smooth performance. I find these demos are jerky, or choppy where the games get slightly more demanding. Should this be so?
Heres a breakdown of some of the performance I get:
NHL 2001 demo - jerky under all conditions
FIFA 2001 - as above
Evolva - as above
Crimson Skies - smoothish, but can get choppy.
SWAT 3 - choppy
I run games with v-sync on, but I have tried switching it off and it shows little improvement with the demanding bits, and looks a lot worse due to tearing etc.
The above are all demos. Should they all be jerky?
Don't get me wrong, a lot of stuff runs really well - MDK2, ShadowMan, Quake 3, Soldier Of Fortune, Drakan, and others, but I was under the impression that EVERYTHING would run well.
Are other people talking nonsense, or is there really something up with my system?
