One week ago I was wearing my bicycle helmet and quad skating down a hill and suddenly hit something and the thought hit me I missed something in the street. 1/2 second later I hit the pavement. 1/2 second after that I saw one of my skate wheels rolling across the street and realized I hadn't missed some impediment in the street but a wheel had come off my skate causing the crash. 1/2 second after that some kids walking down the sidewalk yelled "are you OK?"

I was wearing gloves. If I hadn't been wearing gloves I doubt I'd be typing this message. I'm recovering from my wounds (sprained wrist, bad contusion on my calf), but OK. I skated next day, after changing out all wheel nuts (not changing them for many years had been my stupid, I was warned by the shop owner who sold me my skate trucks, in 1989, that I should change those nuts regularly, but I didn't.).

A lot of guys go macho because they can't handle the information technology revolution (yeah, a simplification, but so's going macho). This guy's obviously a case in point. That article was dated Dec. 26, 2021... the cat just died.

Funny is one of those words that have different meanings in different contexts. Frankly I'm not laughing about the pandemic. Maybe I have, but maybe not, can't remember finding it laughable. When I see info about anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers suffering from covid-19, dying in some cases I'm more SMH. Also I feel a perverse emotion, "there, serve you right, now hope it motivates some of the people you feel/felt akin to, partners in your crime of denial to see the light and fucking wear a mask and get vaxxxed, goddamnit!!!" Yeah, I'm mad at these people for not giving a fuck. I think I'm a little confused. Anger is not unwise, but compassion is wiser. It's just harder to come by, is my sense of it.
