Just had the worst road-rage incedent of my life

Who else thought Argo was driving like a tool and is insane? We haven't heard enough opinions on it yet, only about 80% of people who posted in the thread... :evil:

I'd rather have ragers like Argo on the road who are actually paying attention than the clueless head-up-their-asses idiots that I run across every day.

I have a little short 6 mile one-way commute, only 3 miles of which is on the freeway, but I have a little game that I play every day on my way to work. It's called "Who's Gonna Try to Kill Me Today?"
Almost every day an attempt is made on my life by some clueless idiot who isn't paying attention while driving. There were 2 attempts on my life this very morning.
The first was some idiot who cut me off (nearly clipping my front bumper) to get in front of me in the "Exit Only" lane that I was in (despite the fact that there was no one behind me), only to not take the exit at the last minute (where he cut someone else off).
The 2nd was this clueless old fool on his cell phone at the end of the off-ramp. There are 2 clearly-marked lanes that turn right. I was in the left one, he was in the right one. As we both turned right together, side-by-side, he came over wide into my lane, forcing me into oncoming traffic, which I narrowly avoided. When I pulled alongside him at the next light and yelled at him, he didn't even know what had happened. Thanks, asshole, your carelessness almost killed me in a head-on accident.

And you idiots wonder why people road rage...

How about you pay attention while you're driving, because your carelessness and utter disregard for human life is worse than any speeder. :| Statistics show that far more accidents are caused by "Driver Inattention" than any other cause, twice as many as by drunk driving and 10 times as many as by speeding. Wake up.

I will not give any room to someone who could have merged way back down the road like most people but insisted to speed all the way up to the point they have to either merge or go onto the shoulder. Now if traffic is/was just too bad to allow an early merge, then sure I will let them in.

It's illegal in many states here too pickles, the left lane is only for passing and if you are out on the flats on I-70 here in Colorado in the left lane you will be pulled over.

I wish the whole German road worshipping would come to an end, they do not by any means have that impressive of road systems, people just hear autobahn and get erect over things their friends told them at the taco bell parking lot.
If they had as many poeple on their roads as we did and as big of a variety of types of people their system would completly fail.

The difference is that most people have the common sense to stay off the fast lane when not passing over there. Of course that applies to pretty ever other country with roads. It is only here in (most parts of) the US where people lack a basic level of common sense on the road.

Or they people who speed up so you don't pass them, lol I love giving them a shock when they try that move ... they think I am gona back off and not pass ... then I drop 5th to 3rd and my little GTI revs up and blows the doors off of them... lol

but getting all raged over some other fools driving is just such a waste ... I would have let off the gas (yes it's not nice to the people behind you) and then changed lanes, and then got off the hwy.

I agree on several fronts. I can't believe the number of stupid people who drive each day and don't know that flashing your lights is a universal sign for passing on a 2 lane road. It is also a way to request passage on a 4 lane highway (but it shouldn't be necessary if everyone knew to get back to stay in the right lane if not passing). Many of these people have revealed their lack of basic road sense in this very thread.

I also agree about those idiots that for some dumb reason like to speed up in the right lane to prevent you from passing them. Perhaps if they had speeded up before I wouldn't have needed to pass them in the first place. I too drop to 3rd on my VR6 let them know in no uncertain terms that I intend to complete the pass and return to the right lane.

When someone goes wide into my lane or wanders into my lane due to pure ignorance of the lane lines I just honk to let them know. They usually get back on track. I hate people who can't hold a lane straight.
