Are you one of those cartoon characters?

Yes. Times are so rough that the water tower just got foreclosed.

Where will Yakko, Wakko, and Dot go now? 🙁

Edit: Great, now the theme song is stuck in my head.

wait, reducing 50 million, by cutting 800 people? That is AT LEAST 63k a year...which is not including who they are using as outsource.

We get pretty nice benefits.

Outsourcing.. fuck them..

Outsourcing has pretty much been proven as 'breakeven' right now.. Any short-term savings is displaced by long-term reduction in quality, customer relations, and brand perception..

Corporations don't care about long term which is why outsourcing will continue to grow.

And American employees aren't creative enough to innovate to find ways to make themselves irreplaceable.

The rest of the world has caught up and they will do it for cheaper, yeah your corporations are selling you guys out for the dollar, but if that's what they have to do to stay alive they seem to be willing to do it.

heh, just had a 2nd meeting.

Department of ~70, cut 2 open supervisor positions, 1 supervisor, and a few other small fry positions.

We are probably the luckiest department in the building to have only lost 1 person.

Evidently our work is complex enough that it's not feasible to outsource.

Other departments in this building not so lucky.

[tinfoil hat]Someday other countries are going to outsource to America...if we survive the fallout...[/tinfoil hat]

Edit: btw, congrats on still having a job.

crazy to think 800 people make up to $50mil until you actually do the math.

yup.
Beside, one must also add the benefit and compensation to realize the actual number.
