I decided to start using soy milk instead of regular milk in my shakes. I also tossed in some flaxseed along with the normal bran that I put in.

After i drank about half the shake, my mouth started to itch and my throat started to close up.

After my reaction subsides, i'm gonna go drink a tablespoon or so of soy milk and see if it comes back at all. Until then, any guesses as to which one I am allergic to?

update: just drank a glass of soy milk. Not only does that shit taste disgusting by itself, but I am indeed allergic to it.

I don't seem to have a problem with peanut butter though. I usually put 2-3 tablespoons into my shakes.

Well I guess my next question would be: are there any other types of milk or liquids that I could use in my shakes instead of dairy milk or soy milk?

I noticed that when I was on vacation over break (for about 2 weeks) I didn't consume a single drop of milk and my acne all but disappeared, so I was going to see if the 3+ cups of milk I drink in my shakes was the major cause of it.

I use water in my shakes. Rice milk is the most common "milk" after animal and soy milk.

Water.

Yeah. I was hoping for a suggestion that might actually taste good when mixed with whey, peanut butter, oats, and honey, and a banana. I guess i've never tried it though, so maybe it tastes ok.

:Disgust; soy juice

I've never heard of milk causing acne. Could also be that you were stress free on your vacation. You could try lactose free milk or water.

Its good that you figured it out. Sounds like a bad allergy to have. My mom had it with Walleye fish, and she had to go to ths hospital for the closed throat, but she was absolutely fine with any other fish.
