Just had a win7 oem sticker key activate sucessfully over internet

I thought that you couldn't auto-activate the "OA" keys on a laptop, let's say. It's a fresh install of Win7 HP 64-bit SP1, same as what was on there originally.

On my other laptop, when I did that, I had to call in. This time, it auto-activated, on this laptop.

Whatever, I'm happy I didn't have to call.
 
If it is the same hardware, with low frequency of activation, and was Not been Reactivated for long time, it usually work with the Auto online activation.

However, it is sort of a "crapshot" since MS does not disclose the variables of the formula that is used in such occasions. Thus many time people have to call.
