Just had a strange encounter at my towns little mom & pop grocery store.

A permit is not required in CO to carry a handgun where carrying firearms is legal, if the handgun is not concealed.

So unless the guy is a convicted felon or found to be a danger to himself or others, he is within his rights to carry a firearm.

As for his BS story about being in the military, unless he tries to use it for "official" purposes, he is not breaking the law.

It is also legal to wear military BDUs if you're not in the service.

The guy was weird, but not illegal.

Yip, you are correct. he could dress up as Bozo the clown and wear that sidearm and not break any laws.

The fact is he sey off your meter, and that's why I'd make the call. Better safe than sorry.

True. However, BSing someone is not illegal. If it was, most of the people on the internet would be in jail.

is that a crime, if the guy had a permit, technically he can enter most places strapped, not that I recommend it....just because you can doesn't mean you should be making the other 20 or so people nervous?

I think it's more of a crime given out this discharge plates to people that did things like break a big toe and couldn't serve anymore. (there was a guy one of those outside bars talking about his car....some chick noticed his plate and he starts talking Desert Storm or whatever and he took three in the chest or some shit...his friend walking back up said "three in the chest, more like three in the head for the three stairs you hit when you feel because you broke your big toe".....they almost got into a fight....it was laughing for everyone, the guy left his buddy behind and took off.

You do not need a permit to openly carry a handgun in CO. Only CC requires a permit.
