Just had a lovely root canal...with bleachy aftertaste.

Oh, that was sheer joy, it was. Now I'm back at work with a throbbing tooth and my mouth STILL tastes like Clorox. Is it just me, or does using something like Clorox to clean the germs seem a little ludicrious? Oh, it tastes delicious after it runs over the dental dam and down the roof of my mouth. I also enjoyed the burning sensation!

Really, is he trying to give me cancer or what? I'm pretty sure drinking Clorox is a Neddy-No-No. Ugh...

Yep that's it! After having 11 of them, I can say they're not all that bad. They're less painful than most dental things. Either that or I have a good dentist.

yes it is necessary for your dentist to use bleach. its imperative that the inside of the tooth be sterile before filling it up and using NaOCl is the best way to irrigiate ground up tooth structure out while killing bacteria. If something more toxic is used, then it will seep out and destroy bone around the tooth, anything less toxic and the tooth won't be sterile and theres a good chance bacteria will remain, grow, and the tooth will need another root canal or get to the point where extraction is required. if there was something better to use, dentists would use it.

Jesus! WTF 11???

I freaked out when my dentist said I may need a root canal, luckily the rot wasn't that bad - only needed a crown.

I'd rather have 22 root canals than 11 root canals and 11 crowns...
