:(

I heard a bird in the fireplace after the heavy rain came through and looked up inside of it and saw a cracked egg and wet nest and found a tiny bird, about an inch long, pink, eyes aren't even developed but its chirping :( there's nothing i can do is there?

Put it out of it's misery. I hear scissors work well.

EDIT: just kidding about the scissors part. ;)

Call up a local wildlife rehabilitator if you want any chance, at all, of keeping it alive.

yeah its making me sick to my stomach, but i'm hoping he's too under-developed to feel pain.

It was a reference to an old thread dealing with a similar situation.

Get a bird feeder and place it about 10 feet away from a window so you can watch the live ones. It will make you feel better.

Get a peanut feeder with peanuts. It attracts all sorts of cool birds. I've seen nuthatches, woodpeckers, a family of grackles, red-winged blackbirds, and a family of bluejays just to name a few. And if you go for a thistle feeder, depending on your area, you can attract goldfinches.
