Cuz they're so lean, filets are among the least flavorful of steaks. Go for something with some fat on the sucker.

Considering Kaido's location, I think Wagyu (sp?) beef will be much more economical than airfare and hotel to/in Japan. ;)

Honestly dude, I don't see it. You're eating in effect 60-70% fat. Your lips will taste like grease.

I would split an 8oz filet with 4 people.

Are you kidding?? That piece of meat was THE best steak I have ever tasted in my life. It tasted like it was already marinated with sauce from heaven. All I did was add salt and pepper!

I've got some pork ribs on there right now, slow-cooking for dinner. Hope they turn out well...last time I bought the pre-packaged stuff with sauce in the bag and it was pretty nasty lol.

Not kidding, go wiki steak or rather try some other cuts and taste for yourself. The good news it's only gonna get better for you. FYI, ribeye is a steak :)

That is my favorite restaurant in LA. The 6oz American Kobe filet is $60 and is worth EVERY PENNY. And you'll be full. The oxtail bouillon is awesome too.

This is the second thread I've been in where you have immediately (indirectly) put down the OP with some snobby response.

Go you.

How am I putting him down? I am just saying if he likes regular filets, he will love the kobe version. Way to ASSume

haha, it's on my list of places to go. The only thing I can't stand is their recockulous reservation system (530 or 10 unless you have many 0's in your bank account)

Yeah I know what ribeye is ;) I've tried T-Bone, NY Strip, and Filet Mingon so far on my grill at home. I'll try a Ribeye, Porterhouse, and Skirt steak over the next month or so. Gonna give myself heart diseasing grilling like this lol.

I know, it's retarded. The only way I am able to get an 8:30 reservation is through my friend who works at William Morris Agency.

Celeb sightings whenever I go though. Saw Henry Winkler last time (the Fonz) and Jessica Alba the time before.
