I bought it yesterday, lol what a world of difference in noise, vibration and also cooling vs the el cheapo 29.99 case. It was a good buy.

I just transplanted all the stuff in the old case into the new one. Lol I thought it would never fire up again :)

The only thing that I have a fit was the screwless idea in the case

How big is it? Because right now my case is huge (see sig) and I'd really like a smaller one that will be easier to take to LANs.

Maybe conatct CoolerMaster. I haven't seen them available seperately anywhere online...just like the windowed side panel is not sold seperately anywhere that I've seen.

yep, the centurion 5 is a pretty solid budget case. I have two of them around the house myself.

My only gripes are the front 80 mm fan, I wish there was room for a 120mm, but there isnt

That and cable management can be a bitch.

I was able to add another 120 mm fan on the front using up the remaining 3 5" drive bays (used the stock cooler master in the case) and replaced the exhaust with the Antec tricool. With the help of wire tie and two screws, it worked :). I'll post some of my "handy work" in a minute :p

Lol after finishing up transfering the equipment to the new case, my right hand is having blisters already :D

I'd appreciate the pics on how you did that as I have seen where people have ziptied a 120mm behind the hard drive bays but that doesn't provide any real cooling for the hard drives. Your way sounds more intrigiung.

I never used the hard drive bays for my 120, actually it was the 3 remaining 5.25" external bays.

Apparently the camera was not nice to me, and the batteries needs to be replaced :(. I"ll be getting a new pair tomorrow...pics have to wait =/

But there was a member in another related thread. Posted a pic of a similar setup that I followed (except the middle 120 mm fan :p )

I can see in that pic where it was ziptied...now if your pics will provide where to screw it in then I'll be all set.

Thanks.

Do you know the temporary metal grills on the drive bay when you remove the front of the case?

like this one http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling/sh...ases/coolermaster/centurion5/edges.jpg

With that in mind, I aligned the 120 mm fan right behind it. While being infront of the case, I was able to fit 2 screws without the problem. By using up the upper both corners. But as for the bottom two, then the zip ties came in handy. Although results may vary depending on the type of brand your using atm, but a really good lengthy wire tie will do job. I used like 6 of them , three on each hole to make a good loop.

lol I cannot believe that i almost spent 1600+ on my first built as of today =/

oh well >.>

So you used one of the temporary metal plates to mount the fan with a couple of screws?

I guess I'll have to figure out a different way as I removed all those temporary metal plates and dumped 'em in the garbage.

Take it out it's useless anyway. Rear 120 and PSU fan combined with open front like it has is plenty of airfow.

Actually, it does serve a purpose...cooling the hard drive.

Where do you see anybody saying you can get a Centurion 5 for $30?

The OP said that he REPLACED an old $30 case with a new Centurion 5...he did not say that he bought the Centurion 5 for $30.

decent case, poor quality drive rails for DVD/CD. 80mm fan in the front also blocked off by USB/headphone mic ports have low airflow which means lots of hot air circulating inside the case and neg case pressure

I have had no problems with any of those things you mentioned.

The drive rails are fine, I get PLENTY of airflow from my front intake 80mm fan and I have come to discover that the whole neg/pos air pressure argument is pretty much a bunch of hogwash.
