ok i install the driver and rivatuner. the rivatuner said it's 4x1. so x1600 basically is just beefed up 4 pixel pipeline card or it detect wrong?

thx

It's not really a 4 pipe card, and not a 12 pipe either. It has 12 pixel shaders, and 4 texture units. So it's performance will vary depending on the shader complexity of that game.

ok thx
i also do some overclocking on this. i heard gddr2 don't have large overclocking room so i just pushed it to 415mhz. so for the cores i pushed up to 586 without artifact. so is it good overclock?

I get a buzzing noise out of my X800 GTO too. I know it's not a fan issue, cause the only time I can really notice it is if I'm playing AOE3.

Do you have the same problem, or is yours related to your fan?

hehe, i used to get a buzzing out of my 9800 pro.

sapphire sucks so much, im sorry...

there is really nothing you can do, i found that it goes away with time, but when its brand new, the components need a "burn". until then, enjoy that annoying high pitched buzz that comes out of your computer when you stress the card.

I think Arctic Cooling make some of the best GPU coolers. Zalman also make nice ones, but AC are very easy to install for newer system builders. Check out SVC for their stock of video card heatsinks.

Question. I considering to upgrade my old AGP system.

What was your previous card?

Is the card fast at 10x7 or 12x10 resolution?

I want to know more about noise, heat and power requirments of the card.

Thanks!
