just got wisdom teeth out

So your mouth hurts? If so, your doctor sucks, big time. I got mines out without sedation. I only had novacaine injected. That was it. Afterwards it felt fine I didn't have to use any pain killers. However I did miss eating, a lot. You're going to miss eating solid foods. I would crave for solid foods so badly.

that is a sinch, i only used 4 pain pills the entire time and i ate mcdonalds the next morning for breakfast, think it was pancakes

I had mine removed in the morning and was completely lucid and fine that same afternoon. I got the general for the surgery and didn't have a single pain pill after that. The worst part about it was the awful taste in my mouth from the blood and the gauze.

did you wuss out and get general anesthesia? nobody I know got local like I did.😛

I did 😛 , I've never heard of one getting a general anesthesia for this, except for some really complicated operations.

I got my wisdom teeth out for free cause they wanted to put me on some kind experimental pain pills afterwards. So after we had all had our surgeries we were sitting in there and were supposed to tell the lady when we started to feel pain, but I never did, so I just went home. 😀 Anyways, no pain the day of (general anesthesia) but I remember the day after thinking I wouldn't mind some pain pills. But that was about it.

I did local only. Wasn't hard at all. General is for wimps. Wisdom teeth extraction (while unpleasant) is hardly the worst pain in the world, yaknow... and not the most painful dental procedure either.

I did sedation + novicane. My mouth stull hurts, but I am on Vicodin. I don't blame the doc at all for the pain as most medications have very little effect on me.

I had all four pulled at the same time and I was flying high on Vicodin and percocets for 2 weeks 😉

Sucks, but no sympathy here hehe. After I had all 4 pulled I went without pain meds for the first day cause I had a reaction to the Perkaset and vomited for 18 hours. Then it was 4 advil every 8 hours.

I had intravenous valium, which was weird - apparently you are awake the entire time, and they can actually talk to you, but you black everything out. I just remember waking up on a recovery table. I don't think I was given anything stronger than Tylenol 3 for recovery, but had no significant pain.

I recently had a LOT of morphine, vicoprofen and other narcotics for some major surgery, and didn't find it fun at all. I guess I just don't get it (but then, I'm not a nationally-syndicated conservative talk radio host, so maybe it's wasted on me).

One of my best friends just had his out a week ago. His cheeks have finally gone back to normal (they were hella swollen), but he's still taking painkillers.

I had mine out last year and i tell you it was well worth it.
They were not impacted, but one was coming in at an angle..now mind you im 34 and I havd a tooth removed when i was a kid so i had space for one of them to come in..but the other wasnt quite small enough.

Anywho, I got the bottom two taken out and I noticed my gums stopped bleeding when i brushed my teeeth, the dentist said the pressure on my lower teeth was the issue and with the removed wisdom teeth it should go right away, he was right.
Also if you leave them in they start to stink and food gets caught in them..its nasty...

I had the "sleepy time" anesthetic..Im a wuss I know...but afterwards i felt pretty good.
I only took ibuprofren to lower the swelling..a little bit of ice and then gargled with some salt water...took about a week for it to really go away where I felt comfortable.

When I was 16 and had all four taken out, I was sedated as well. Can't remember exactly what painkillers they gave me, but they made me vomit, so I just took Advil.

I got local + the gas. Ohhh man the gas... What a strange feeling that was.

Can dentists administer general anesthesia?

My girlfriend will get her removed soon. I advised her to get general, but our dentist said only oral surgeons would administer general.

I wanna know if our dentist is a lying pr!ck.
