how does one convert your phone jacks to use vonage? with out rewireing the house?

wasssup: do you really work for vonage?

They give you a phone adapter..ie router....

No rewiring needed

i know, i have it

but in order to connect one phone in our house its on the complete other end

with out running a 100 ft. cable from the phone to the vonage adaptor and going through a floor, how can one set it up so it just uses the regular phone jacks?

i was told that some guy disconnected his POTs line and used a splitter for a phone jack that was near the vonage adaptor and did it that way

but he said with out disconnecting the POTs line you would get a dial tone if you did that

i tried it (w/o disconnecting the old line) and it worked, the other phone and all

only thing is we couldn't recieve calls comming in that way

That wouldn't be a problem for me since I use a 5.8ghz phone with add on handset.
The range on those is extremely good. Plus you don't have to be near the phone jacks.
