Just got to Vegas for a short 18 hour stint. If you can't have fun in Vegas, the problem isn't Vegas

Oh I get what you mean. I was just weighing the benefits of my body shutting itself down a bit sooner and so nearly eliminating the potential for severe alcohol poisoning, to the cost of an extended shitty day--the other thing is that the extended shitty days pretty much works as its own disincentive to not drink so much.

Getting old does suck. Amazing how quickly the metabolism changes, too. :D

No shit, I'm about to turn 30 and feel like a grandpa compared to my college days. I presume that my metabolism will only slow down even further as I age - yet my appetite never gets any smaller... Sooo I have no idea how being fat isn't an inevitable fate for me.

Plus - if you think a hangover sucks... Try a hangover with a baby. There is no mute button and it always requires you to do something every hour... so goodluck sleeping to get rid of that headache.

This your first time to Vegas? I had a room with a balcony at Cosmo last time I was there, overlooking the strip and the pool at the Cosmo. It was an awesome view and my wife and I were talking about going there in November for my birthday. It's been 5 years since last time we went and that place is tons of fun.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least of the majority of people on this board don't like Vegas or couldn't have fun there.

And the only gambling I've ever done in Vegas is roulette with like $50 one time.

Because most people on this forum are introverts and don't like being around people and are big nerds. I'm like that myself but not to the extent that most people on this board seem to be. And my wife is the exact opposite so I'm forced to be in situations like that, and I can enjoy it myself.

The location of the Cosmo is great. It's right in the heart of everything. You can walk to most of the entertainment from there or take a very short taxi ride. It's also a more upscale hotel so you aren't around the drunk fratboys and trash like you are if you stay at the Flamingo. And you're wrong about being able to get balconies at hotels overlooking the strip being common, do some research.

You can get rooms at the Cosmo during the week for under $100 depending when you go. I still get emails from them often about this.

You should also look at the definition of overpaying. Paying more for better location and a more upscale experience isn't overpaying if you can afford it and it's worth it to you.

I've.been to Vegas many times. First time at Cosmo. Cosmo was $96 on Priceline and Aria was $88. Decided on Cosmo because I eat here a lot and secret pizza is open until 5am.

Funny story about introverts - as I was eating my pizza in the main area outside secret pizza, a mob of tech Bros sat down cuz they also got pizza. One guy turned to me and said "you're all alone dude?", to which I replied "best way to Vegas my friend."

Goddamn I'm such an introvert.

And to the other poster, it was a NIN show, and he played a setlist for hardcore fans.

Dude I had that secret pizza the one time I went to Vegas... Wtf is so great about it? It just sloppy oiled up shit. I've had sooooo much better as far as pizza.

Now the scenery was pretty good there though - tons of shitfaced girls that were practically passed out drunk. That was probably the best thing there.

Flock & Fowl was a hardcore addiction for me for a long time. Was in there every week or two.

Was never especially impressed by secret pizza. Good Pie that just opened downtown is pretty damn good though.

Well its good to see folks going there I would of thought with all the countries and states legalizing gambling it would of taken a big hit.

SP is above average NY style pizza that happens to have a great location and is open until 5am. It's maybe a 7.5/10 in terms of straight pizza but the other factors make it an always visit for me. It's certainly a lot better than the pizza place at planet Hollywood across the street...

Did you read one of the F&F locations got shut down by the health department?

Vegas has done an exceptional job of diversifying. I love gambling yet I never gamble in Vegas, simply because I'm always doing something else and I don't have the time to gamble.

If I wasn't leaving in 3 hours I'd go to the Aria spa to decompress. A day pass there is $35 and it's hard as fuck to find a spa like that, at that price, outside of Vegas.

Fair assessment.

Ha! Sahara location is the one I frequented. It closed in the fall while they opened the downtown location and only just reopened. Kinda odd everything would be falling apart now. I'm gonna lose my mind if they don't start serving Bao at the DT location.

Edit: Looks like they did add it actually. And all refs to Sahara site are removed. I think they've given up on it.

Verdict: 1 day trips are pretty fun. It leaves you wanting more and you don't have to bother stretching the money. Just budget exactly what you're willing to spend, leave the cards at home, and go at it.
