I purchased the Wii Zapper to play with COD: WaW that I just got for Christmas from my wonderful wife! (Actually I got the Wii, COD and Boomblox for Christmas).

So I opened the box up and popped the Zelda game in and the Wii goes to a black screen and says something about it has experienced an error and to turn off the Wii and turn it back on. I can reboot the Wii and all my other games play fine, but once I put the Zelda game in it bombs.

Is this an issue with the game or my CD? The CD has no visible scratches and like I said it's brand new out of the box.

Have you connected your Wii to the internet so it can do a system update?

I seriously doubt this is the problem - for one thing, I ran the Zelda zapper game on a Wii I kept at 3.2E. I'm guessing the disc is defective - it happens.

Yeah, I have the latest update. I guess I'll just skip the game.. don't feel like going through the hassle of trying to return everything just for the game.

Am I missing something here? Why can't you just return only the defective game disc for a new one?

Considering the Wii Zapper is totally crap and the whole point of buying that is to get the Zelda game... I'd try to get the Zelda game to work. It's actually kinda fun.
