Just got the g5

Just got this, upgrading from a 310 so it's a huge leap for me. Being able to switch sensitivity on the fly is awesome, and the weight cartridge is a great thing for those that love to have different options. Everyone knows the good sides as they've been stated before, but here's what I don't like:

For some reason, the thumb button or wheel button isn't recognized in CS:S. I had to force the application to recognize the thumb as "-" to get it to work.

I never had the tilt wheel, so I'm using that as forward/back since I don't have a forward button.

That's about it though, the rest of the mouse works flawlessly and I don't see myself buying another for a while.

Same here. I've setup my tilt to go back when clicked to the left, forward when clicked right. It feels so natural that I was quite proud of myself for setting it up that way. Glad to see someone else setting it up that way also.

G5 are just too sensitive and work great on a good Mouse pad. Save your money and just buy a MX518 or G7. MX1000 don't really recommend it. I am talking from experience since i own all 4 mouse 🙁

Frankly I think you just hate the G5 period.

The G5's laser engine is the exact same as the G7. The G5 is wired and the G7 is wireless.
