kinda like early coldplay, but spacier.

The album is incredible, but I don't like comparing them to Coldplay. They are very different groups, IMO, but granted they're clearly in the same genre.

If you haven't heard Keane, you're missing out on what will EASILY go down as one of the top 10 albums of the year.

yeah...top 10...not really. Good album, but it's standard English-band-playing-ballads fare. Nothing groundbreaking or really notable.

Still good though ^_^

It's very good. It's at least in MY top 10 of the year. The lead vocals are incredible, and their music is somehow slightly dark even while maintaining its melodic edge.

Saw them in concert in Cincinatti a few months ago.

heh well..the last 3 years have seen maybe a year's worth of quality music

and i only compared them to coldplay because thats something most ppl would recognize. the connection is loose at best.

I just picked it up as well. My favorites so far:

I didn't even know who these guys were a few weeks ago (I do remember hearing "Somewhere Only We Know" in some Victoria's Secret commercial a ways back, but I didn't know who was singing it).

I was sitting in an airport at Chili's Express in St. Louis during a layover on my way to Vegas for CES and I heard "Everybody's Changing" playing on the radio. I sat there and was amazed by the song, but the radio didn't say who sang the song after it was over -- pissed me off something awful. So I forgot about it after I got to Vegas.

Then last week, I was watching Scrubs and they played it during the second half of the episode...the whole damn song. They were playing it very low (and I was on the phone with my GF at the time so I put her on mute and told her to hold on) so I turned up the volume and started trying to scribble down the words to the song. I typed it into Google and came up with Keane

Then I went to go get the album

each song has decent tunes, but they try to stretch em out too long. they overstay their welcome. it gets annoying.

I first heard of them in reading an interview with G.Paltrow, who mentioned them as one of the bands other than Coldplay that she was listening to...

i just listened too a few songs, and they sound quite boring and lame. Seriously 0 originality.
