just got some Shure E2C's

well, the clarity is just amazing, but they just cant keep up with the bass like my older sony's could

LFO by LFO which for all the many people who arent into old skool is a very very bass heavy track, and the bassline is just lost completely on these.

still need to find the best ear piece mind, im using the smallest black rubber pieces seen as they seem to be the only ones that dont push themselves back out my ears within 5 seconds.

the foam pieces are next to useless lol

Just found a crack in the cable of my e2c's. Quite irritating.

I love their sound quality though. I think the bass is plenty rich, and the sound along the entire range is strong and crisp. I think it's very easy to have too much bass.

Maybe adjust your DAP's settings to give you the levels of bass you desire?

That'd be right. I guess you had EX51/71/81s, which by all accounts are pretty terrible headphones but have pretty thick basslines. The E2Cs are leagues ahead in clarity and quality but aren't known for their bass.

I've got some Creative EP-630s, which are essentially Sharp MD33s or Sennheiser CX300s. I love the balance - while the mids won't be as good as your Shures, they have a great bassline and general quality way in excess of the EX71s. Plus they're like 25 bucks 😛

well playing with the EQ i got them where i want them

led zep stairway to heaven just had me in shock at the quality of the sound, listening to dizzee rascal - fix up look sharp.....bass is right there, nice n tight

ill cast the sony's off to my bro, they'll be at least better than the ipod jobs

these seem really well suited to rock, indie, house my kind of music, rap is a bit lacluster, but most rap doesnt really float my boat

oh and they love the prodigy! and faithless!

E2C's need to be 'broken in' just like any quality speaker.. Play them on medium volume somewhere where it won't annoy you while you sleep and they'll eventually break in after 20-50 hours.

I got my dad a set of E2C's and I couldn't stand them all at first because they had ZERO bass.. But after he used them for a few months, they sounded much more rich and full in the bass area.
