Just got RAM, why won't it work?

I'm building a new system and I ordered two DIMMs of Kington 128 MB PC133 CAS-3 <-🙁. I decided to take one of the sticks for a spin on my old computer, which is a P200, though I don't know the motherboard (any help in identifying it?). Currently I have two 32 MB DIMMs in the two available RAM slots. I took both out and tried the RAM in both slots, and both times the computer would not boot - nothing would come on the screen and it would keep beeping, signifying that it was not detecting any RAM I assume. Does the BIOS/motherboard not support the RAM, or is there another problem? Is it possible that the RAM is defective or that I might have killed it with a static charge? I highly doubt the second as I was very careful with the RAM, but it is a possibility. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! Do you know if I may have damaged my RAM at all by trying it out on a non-compatible mobo? Thanks.

My P233 MMX takes SDRAM. So that probably isn't the problem. And why would PC133 work in a 66mhz FSB comp.
 
Did the P1 and P1-MMX use the same mobo? Also, what mobo do you think I am using? I bought mine from Dell a few years back... when P200 was THE top of the line 🙂.

usually old mobos (VX and TX chipset) only supports SDRAM upto 32 MB only. This is known chipset limitation, and cannot be resolved by BIOS upgrades. The chipset just doesn't have enough resources to address all memory available.
 
SDRAM is fine with p200
P133 RAM means it was tested to that level, may go higher, WILL go lower.
VX Chipset/BIOS will not recognize 128 MB ram sticks

Yeah my comp is only upgradable to 128mb so if you have that 128 stick w/the 32 it would be too much. That could be a problem also. You might wanna try just putting in the 128 and taking out the 32 and see what flies.
 
Hubbs... that's what I did. Oh well I'll just give this one up. I was just too greedy for that temporary performance boost. This RAM wasn't even meant for the P200, it's meant for my soon to be finished Duron 🙂. Peace, and thanks.
