Alright, maybe I'm missing something here. He got a $6 annual raise? And wants to know what the bi-weekly raise is (divided by 26)? And the $6 was a 20% raise over old salary? So, now he makes $36/year 😕

I'm a mathematician for a slot machine manufacturer. Up until today I was an associate mathematician, which basically meant that I was too fresh out of college to take a risk on.
The promotion put me up two pay grades, so I got the maximum raise percentage allowed by company policy. The good news for me is that I'm currently under the minimum salary for my new pay grade so they will be required to give me another nice raise in 6 months.

*sigh*
It was a joke. He was joking that he only got $6 and that it was a 20% increase.
<---- thought it was funny.
