Just got part of my grades for the term! *yeah!*

Supposedly, grades were supposed to be due on this passed Saturday. Only one teacher has posted my grades as of 2:15pm today, though. 🙁:|

Anyway, my Rock&Roll teacher posted my grade for his class. I got a B! Cool! The first two tests I didn't do so well on. I guess since he didn't show up for the final (one less test for me to get a C on), and I put two papers plus my presentation on Metallica into his box the day of the final, he had to use only those to make my grade. I must have done fairly well on the presentation, or I wouldn't have passed at all. He said that practically all of the grade was riding on the final and the presentation. Anyway, I'm a happy boy. 🙂

Yeah, the class is called "History of Rock & Roll" --the teacher has his PH.D. in music. :Q

Basically, we listened to CRAP LOADS of music, were taught how to figure out who the band was, info on the band & bio. Along with learning who started it all and how it evolved, we learned things like what makes up the different kinds of blues riffs, 12-bar blues, what makes up a true blues band/classical blues/blues rock/jazz rock, and on and on and on.

It was an AWESOME class. There's nothing like showing up early to class to watch Hendrix plunk away the national anthem. 😀 Someone in my class has a pick that Hendrix was using on that stage later on @ Woodstock that Hendrix lost during play. This guy picked it up and has had it ever since. It's in his safety deposit box.

...and he's in college?!?!? Shouldn't he be like around 40 to 50 years old?

I'm in college and understand why they go back.

But since when did you have to take History of Rock and Roll to get a degree?

I know I'm probably just walking myself into something...

I took History of Rock and Roll, it was one of the choices for a general education requirement. There were other history classes I could have taken, but why? Class was easy and it counted!

ltk, it depends on where you go to college. My college doesn't even have phys ed classes, let alone fun classes like "History of Rock and Roll" 🙁

Edit: Stupid typos.....

yeah, the guy with the pic is in his 50's, I think. He sure looks it. :Q

I don't necessarily need this class - unless I choose to minor in music. 😉

Yes, I only got a B. 😛 The first two tests were not all that easy. I was still getting used to the college deal when I got the tests, too.

yea me too! I got a 3.0 this quarter, which sadly, is the best I've done so far in my 3 years of college =P a B in discrete math, a B in computer organization, and a pass in microeconomics (stupid humanities/social science classes that I get C's in were the ones that brought my gpa down... finally in my 3rd year of college I figure out that I can take them for pass/no pass ;P )

Does this mean my grades are up in that class to??? uh, oh... I don't wanna look! 😛

I took a history of Jazz class with the same teacher. I liked it much more than the Rock and Roll.

Spring term is the Folk music class. It's a series. 🙂
