Great!
Let us know how you like it.
I had the carpet done last week so tore apart the docking station rig with the 19" LCD, external hard drives, Saitek Eclipse illuminated keyboard, Logitech MX700 that sits on the cofee table in my living room.
Took me a week to get it back together. Partly because I'm lazy, partly because the M70 was so nice to use as a laptop. Nice keyboard, great screen. I was even gaming without a mouse for several days, got to using a combo of the jujubead mousstick thingy with the touch pad that sort of worked in guild wars. Ran back to the mouse when started grouping with real people though. Still have not found any notebook pointing device I can really game on......
Tips: read the manual at support.dell.com before trying to upgrade the RAM under the keyboard. It's easy but a little tricky.
Use a small or jewlers screwdriver to take the thing apart. Don't do like I did and use a steak knife the first time.
Go to support.dell.com create an account, register your M70 and sign up for the auto-email updates for drivers. Unless you are adventuresome and using things like guru3Ds hacked drivers get the latest graphics drivers from dell. They are rock solid and work great.
Get the fan control program. Something like fan8kgui or something. Works with the M70 after loading a reg hack. I don't trust it to control the fans but VERY nice to have my temps in the sys tray.
Did you get the free port replicator? If not budget for it and the DView stand in the future (unless you only ever want to use it in laptop mode, also a DVI 19" LCD in portrait mode...dual screen with the laptop screen is aweseome for writing papers for school). The DView stand is a rock, very well designed and worth the $$$$$. I hammered out a 20 page paper in 1.5 days and the 19" monitor/M70/Dview/Port Replicator setup was a joy to work with.
Beat the heck out of the thing. You have 21 days after which you can return it for any reason. Since it's your $$$$ don't hesitate to return it. Better yet at 15 days call dell and tell them you are thinking about returning it. No reason, just not as fast as you thought it would be. Screen is not as bright as you hoped etc. Co-worker got an extra $150 out of dell just for telling them he was considering returning it.
