Just finished building my system... after hours of trying to get the screws out of my acrylic that were really tight!!!!! Plus 2 hours of rewiring to get it to look nice :)

I must say it is sooooooooooooo fast..... dunno my benches yet but it runs like nothing i have ever seen...
my specs are in my sig...

well i ran doom 3, 1290x1024, ultra graphics, 4xAA, and 8xAF.... NO FRAME LAGGG! IM IN HEAVEN... NOBODY NEEDS AN FX-55!! THIS IS A BEAST AND YOUR CRAZY IF YOU NEED BETTER!!!!!!!!

Im installing hl2 now and will test the fps in that... ganna use 3dmark as well... ill post my scores

Thanks people from the anandtech forum so much for all your help through my process of building this... this was my first build and i know for a fact it will go much quicker next time :)

you say nobody needs an FX-55, then you go out and get the next closest thing...heh

Yeah, you probably could have gotten similar performance out of a Winchester overclocked (easily) to one of those speeds, or even a 3500+ at stock. As a matter of fact, the 130nm process I think's used in the 4000+ may limit your overclocking prospects a little. Nonetheless, that's a nice setup.

Did you blow your whole wad on this computer? Because if not, I think you made a mistake in spending $730 for the 4000+ when you could've had the FX-55 for $130 more (these prices are from ZZF). I'm not really trying to crap on your parade, though-- have fun with it.

i know... i was going to get an fx55 cause it was only 130 dollars more... this is the first time i have had a pc that can run something better than counter strike original... so i wanted this to last... my parents though wouldnt get the fx55 cause we already spent so much...

and i said that you dont need fx55 because once i installed this, i realized that this is even pushing it and not neccisarry...

Hey, man, I feel bad now. You can still overclock the f*ck out of that 4000+ by raising the FSB, I expect. I waffled for a while when I built my rig, because I wanted to keep the price down but I also wanted to make all the parts last for a while. I'll bet you can go QUITE a while with your current setup before you even notice a slowdown in ANYTHING. The 4000+ isn't really a bad buy or anything.
