Ok, so im comparing these with my older Aiwa headphones, and these things are like 2 million times more comfortable, they have a much deeper sound stage that can very give so much more depth to music than my old headphones, as for volume, they are about the same. (no amp). i have no clue on the resistance of the other headphones, but these are 64 ohms. and the bass is there, as for highs, ive never had a good ear for them, but overall these sound a lot better than the oldeer headphones i had, and did i mention that they are so much more comfy its not funny?

Great phones, but the little plastic tabs on the sides of the headband have a habit of breaking. The flex every time you put them on and take them off, and eventually they snap. it doesn't affect anything though, the loose part just falls down by where the cans are. looks kinda funny, but they still work great.

Disagree. I've had three sets of open style Senns, and they can't compare to the HD280 Pro's. I can wear them for hours without "sweating" as well. The noise cancellation properties of them are awesome. I used them on a flight down to Florida, and it drowned out almost all the cabin noise...and I was right on the wing near the engine.

I'm curious what makes you think open style "sound better"?

I love my HD-280s as well. You might want to do that blue tak mod for more bass, but it seems like it's find right now for you. I've found these to be excellent for sound positioning in fps games, seems to be much better than my old heaphones.

hi, these are the phones i am actually looking into the most....but i have several questions and the more i think the harder it is for me to find the right headphones...

Are the HD 280 comfortable eg. for longer sessions on the PC ? Right now i use Sony earplugs for gaming and listening, and i can see the weight of the HD280 being a problem .

Also...for some reasons i ould rather prefer open headphones...but then i dont know how "loud" they are...eg...means i am kinda concerned to wake up the sleeping wife right behind me while playing which would kind of defy the purpose of the whole headphones.

I really have a hard time finding the right ones....

Right... the reply was directed at the OP, but perhaps it's more fitting for you. HD280 are nice? Yes, if your only source for headphone purchase is BestBuy. You didn't even mention what those 3 open style sennheiser headphones are. I'm sure they can't be HD580, HD600, or HD650. But of course, why would you buy something that expensive when you think HD515 sounds like a million dollars and HD280 are the most comfortable headphone ever? Don't make me laugh.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled "elite member actually means something" program.

LMAO. Nope, I never had the high end ones you mentioned since I rarely use mine and can't justify spending big $$$ on something I would use every once in awhile.

The open styles I had I don't remember the model numbers except for the most recent pair, which were HD495's.

See, I don't live with my mom and dad, so I can game with my dual Klipsch setup pretty much whenever I want. My neighbors gave up trying to get me to stop.

Of course, I'm sure my HD280's sound like junk compared to your super duper awesome headphones, but I'll try to cope since I'm not "Baked the audiophile" who makes small differences out to be night and day.

Good job coming off as a snobbish audiophile, without actually posting what YOU like and thus avoiding any chance of getting proven wrong:roll:

id love to see where i said they were the most comfortable headphones ever.

also, id love to have purchased those expensive headphones, but um... at $60 and me being a poor college kid on his own money, i sorta had to buy what i could.
