Andy,

I have been looking here in the states for the X10. As stated in this thread the Gateway model is not the X10 but the X05. I favor the X10 over the T40 for the same reasons presented here, weight of the machine mainly. What do you think of the screen? Colors, etc. Have you had a chance to use this with big documents yet. I own a toshiba portege 2000 which has a PIII M running at 900 mhz. My work requires I edit big documents with imbedded graphics (100 mb files) and this machine just struggles. Large powerpoint is also an issue. I would love to see some Sandra or Business Winstone evaluations if you have them. Why samsung does not sell this here is beyond me. Dynamism.com is the only choice unless I can get some one in Europe to send me one!!!

Cheers

The screen is fine with colours....just like any regular Samsung desktop LCD, except that it is a bit dark. There's a setting in the BIOS that will increase the brightness of the screen.

I'll come up with some SANDRA results later.

SANDRA 973...

Arithmetic-
CPU ALU: 4883
CPU FPU/iSSE2: 1997/2953

Multimedia-
Int: 8392
Float: 9852

Drive index: 17860 kB/s

RAM-
Int: 1936 MB/s
Float: 1939 MB/s

I think that's about it. I have no idea if these numbers are good or bad.

Don't really have problems with ghosting. There shouldn't be any problems with WC3, although I would add more RAM before I tried it.
