What companies actually give bonuses anymore? I've not seen one.

Mine does. Quarterly gianshare bonus, yearly gainshare bonus (based on company performace), and christmas bouns.

Not to many companies give employees to there employees now somewhat. This one store I service at, the companies CEO and district mangers will give bonuses to the store mangers if they make hours cuts to the works. The deli area used to have like 6 people working at the counter. now they want that down to like 2 or 3 people at most. For the rest of the store like grocery, fashions, eletronics, etc they want all the departments down to 1 to 2 people working that whole area.

Last year I received a 10% bonus+3.8% raise...

This year I scored higher on my eval so lets see what that equates to.

2% is the raise I ever get and < 5% is the bonus annually. It sucks. It sucks because my wife has gotten ridiculous raises every year along with a $17k bonus this year ($10k last year). We're both IT people... my company is probably 1000x the size of hers, but in the end:

Finance sector > IT sector

Golden West, is that a real estate firm? i had a realtor from Golden West help me look for houses a few weeks back.

Wow! There's still companies that performance-based raises? I've only been in IT for 8 years, but I've never worked for one. Everyone gets a review on their anniversary. Everyone gets their raise on the same day of the year. Executive sets the overall rate, usuall 1.5% - 3%. If it's more than 2%, that means insurance premiums went up or coverage went down. The only bonus I ever got in the 6 years I've been here was about $800 the client paid to each of my teammembers as an incentive to take on an oversized workload....

Most of the Financial companies in NYC gives out huge bonus and raises. Friend got a 50% bonus + 10% raise this year...
