i haven't had the chance to "play" with it yet =) still in the process of transfering files and backing up some before i do a reinstall of the OS. any ideas on how well i can do? :)

the hardware:

athlonxp 1700+ t-bred A (i know i know, i was crying... :brokenheart: )
nf7-s v2.0 mb
SLK-900U with Thermaltake Smartfan 2 running at 3000RPM (4800 a wheee to loud for me. :))
geil pc3500 512 (256x2) ultra platinum (suppose to run 433@ 2.0-3-3)
soyo fire-devil 8500LE 64mb
maxtor 30gb 7200RPM
maxtor 40gb 7200RPM
maxtor 80gb SE 7200RPM
wd 40GB 7200RPM

a couple quick questions about this MB.

-how do i know it's running dual channel DDR?
-are the PCI clocked locked? and is it related to how i clock the AGP also?

thanx for any help you guys wanna share, experiences, and stories. thanx all

If you flash to the latest BIOS, 1.2, when you boot, it will confirm dual channel mode. Use DIMM slots 2 and 3.

PCI is locked. AGP is set to 66mhz by default.

I have nothing but good things to say about the board. It does undervolt a little and temps read a little higher than actual, but other than that, it's been rock solid.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

how the 100 dollar question... should i use the beta flashmenu (windows OS based BIOS flashing utility)? it's in the beta phases.... and the fact that it's flashing my bios and BETA is kinda... worrysome...

Yup. Just download the newest BIOS from Abit and follow their directions on how to flash it with a floppy. It's a snap.
