from other posts, some say Aroia is better than agoia..
if its an oem chip give it a try, clean the heatsink paste and they wont know.

Alrighty, i guess i shall give it a try, but without unlocking it for now so i can try to trade it in if i dont like the results. If i get a good OC, then i'll unlock it, void the waranty, and try for 200 mhz FSB at whatever multi i can squeeze out of it.
now im off for a night of drunken debauchery. i will build my system tomorrow

and what kinda cooling too.

VCore- 1.9V
VDimm - 2.8V

I am using an Alpha PAL8045 + 52CFM Fan.

CPU temps average at 48C, Case Temps average out at 30C. House Temp is currently at 80F, which is rather hot for most houses.

Ran stable in prime95 for 6 hours, then I went to back to continue runnng SETI@Home.

I like my chip :D

Hey Actaeon I wanted to thank you for motivating me to push my AGOIA system harder :) I relaxed the timings and boosted the Vcore to 1.9v (1.86v actual) and now it's running@1.88ghz (178.9x10.5) BTW I crunch SETI on my O/C'd Northwood so what is your average time for a work unit on your's? I ask because I'll be switching mine to SETI from ECCp a little down the road and would like to know what I can expect. Sorry about highjacking the thread ;)

LOL, The only downside is the relaxed timings affect my 3Dmark score negatively by about 300 points with all other conditions identical on multiple runs, but that's no biggie as the extra juice is for crunching ECCp faster so I can win the race to 50k :D

Haha, Glad to see you could pump out a few extra mhz. :D As far as crunching SETI, every workunit is a bit different, so some are actually harder than others to complete. The lowest I've seen a WU go by is at 2.5hr/wu, Highest I've seen is about 3.5hr/wu, all with constant and regular use (surfing/chatting/music/etc).

Have you ran Prime95 yet? How are your timings? Mine are on most aggressive (turbo), but CAS is at 2.5 instead of 2.

Pillage: Good luck! These AGOIA/AROIAs are fantastic! I'd like to see how high other people on this forum can get theirs...

With currently voltages and settings, I can hit about 1950 stable, but fails prime.

You guys make me wanna bump up some voltages, unlock my CPU, and see if I can hit 2.0ghz. ;)

As long as it's stable for crunchin' ECCp I could care less if it's prime95 stable ;) BTW my timings are all by SPD as my Crucial 2700 wasn't managing it any other way :( Hopefully the stick just needs more burn in time as I won't put more than 2.6v through it without a at least a spreader on it.

Well im up, running, and typing this on my 1600+ AROIA@1.75 GHZ (166*10.5)
and this is with my Global win FOP heatsink with an 80mm fan cause i havent gotten better cooling yet. oh, and i run about 53C under load
oh, and its still on default voltage.
oh...i guess i could push harder couldnt I ;) what i need to do is unlock it and go 200 mhz and then see about some more ghz
i likey i likey a lot
