Well there wasn't any 20% discount, and i compared the ESA one, the Panasonic Tau, and the Sony WEGA. The sony WEGA's picture and sound was BY FAR superior to those of the panasonic and ESA. Also has a very stylish look to it :)

Now it makes my tv stand look hideous; time to get a new one of those :p

here's the link to my TV w/ pic

No, but bigger is better. :)

Well of course, but money dosen't grow on trees. At least, last time i checked it didn't.

i have a 27" sony wega, speakers are on bottom rather than sides. if its anything like mine, you will love it. Dont listen to all the antisony people. they make great TVs, mine has been running great for over 2 years.

Quick, call Sears and see if it's still on sale for $379.99 there. You should be able to get a price match, but this would probably be the last day, if not, yesterday.

BTW, nice choice.

They are nice and expensive.

They are also big and heavy. The guy with the 36" was going to get a 40" but it wouldn't fit through his bedroom door.

2 years ain't exactly a long time.

With that said, I love my 36" non-XBR :(

30HS510 (HDTV) here. Simply awesome for my tiny living room; my viewing distance is 5 feet, so direct-view CRT was the best choice for the situation (although I want the 34HS510 now).

"24" in HDTV tonight :D

I dont know about you ... but I have seen ESA and its not even worth considering or mentioning in the same sentence as the tau's and the sony ... and the sound on an ESA i heard was tinny .. worse than my laptop speakers ...

Congrats! btw!

I have a sony 27" FV15 that I paid around $750 for about 3-4 years ago. I'm *still* pretty impressed by it, especially for a non-hd set. FYI: The 'FS' denotes a slightly cheaper model without better sound and in my case a certian 3-line comb filter, but I'm not sure if they're different now. The sound output from my set is fantastic, I could use it to listen to music and be pretty pleased.

The bass can get really booming without distorting, I love the tv :)

Yes, FS and FV are different sets even now....but the FS is still a nice set.
