Just Got My Mobile 2500+

Well I just got my new Mobile Barton 2500+ from NewEgg along with a SLK-947U heatsink. The stepping is IQYHA.
i'm currently priming at 11x200 (2200mHz) at STOCK 1.45V!!! Priming at the moment and have no errors so far.

So, does that mean that newegg took back your desktop XP2500? If they did, did they make you pay the 15% restocking fee?

okay...

once you guys hit 2.6 ghz, please posts some benches so i compare how well these bartons clock against an A64 @ 2.6 ghz 🙂

i want to see some superpi, povray, setibench, anything unrelated to video benches unless you wanna run 3dmock2k1 and 3dmock2k3 but you'll have to use a 9800 pro at default!

🙂

Assuming these things clock well, i'm going to build a barton mobile 2500 system as well!

Got a guide somewhere on where to get povray and how to set it up to do the benchmarking? I'll be happy to do any benchmark I'm capable of when I get mine =)

myocardia.. yea they took it back without the restocking fee. I still have to send it though. well an update it passed prime95 time to up it a little bit and see how far I can get 🙂

Jeff, this mobile Barton has no chance to compare with Athlon64 at 2.6 GHz. That kind of overclock of Athlon64 is the top of the line right now. The price is 3x more of course.

Well I'm cruising along at 12x200 at 1.65v. Is it true that the Abit NF7-s V2.0 undervolts the processor as much as .05? if so does that mean I can go up to 1.85 and be ok for long term use?

I actually booted in Windows at 1.85V with 213x12.5 = 2.65 GHz, believe or not. Only tests are rebooting the Windows. I get it 213x12 = 2.55 GHz Prime95 stable. This is one hell of a processor.

See if you can get it stable down around 2.60 or 2.61 and compare results with Shimi and his 2.6 ghz A64

I can get some tests at 2.6 GHz. They are a little behind my Athlon64 at 2.4 GHz so I know it is nowhere close to Athlon 64 at 2.6 GHz. The trouble is Prime95 freezes and I have to do hard reboot. I don't know the reason because pumping more voltage (1.9V) does not help. But I am happy camper with 2.556 GHz Prime95 stable. This is one of the best buys I had ever, apart from "hot deals" here. 😎

Right now I'm sticking at 1.65v to see how far I can take stock Barton... I'm running at 11.5x215(2462mHz) prime seems to be going fine... and with no sides on my case my temp is 36C on a full load right now... lol
