Just got my library card!

So I have not been in a library in over many many years. I finally got the urge to go in today due to my day off and got a library card. A key chain card too. Woohoo.

Now I can have all the book goodness I want. But I have to read and reading is getting a bit hard these days - can't keep my focus and I fall asleep!

Oh well, I am still happy!

Heh, kind of funny... I haven't been to one in years since I always went to my university's library. I got it so I could get books for my girlfriend's little brother. Was surprised when they gave me a little keychain card too... seems like everyone has those now.

LOL

For people who have not stepped inside of a library for so many years, its a big thing.

I didn't know you could get books for free now!

no, a blockbuster membership. they're actually going to start letting him handle money next month.

I love public libraries. Problem is I can never remember to return the books. Those nickels per day add up you know and librarians can be vicious in protection of their wards.

They put a number on the back of the book nowadays that you can call to renew. This may vary by location.

I believe this is a new feature as I never saw this before. By before I mean many years ago.

I use our library's online databases all the time. I can login from home with my library card number and access them whenever I want (there are a couple databases that only allow access from the library itself).

I was doing some research on Enterprise Content Management systems the other day and I noticed Amazon had an article from some magazine for $20. Found it for free on the library online system.

just got my card too after years of not having one, can renew and hold books online and get email reminder of when they're due. Now I've got to find time to read them!

Take a look, its in a book, its reading rainbooooooow. I think i may go to the library and do some reading for pleasure before classes start up again. Its been too long since ive gone to the library to just read for fun instead of study or research.
