It figures my luck. I get all excited about my new laptop and order it with overnight shipping. It comes yesterday, I call in sick to work 🙂 open the box up, and power it on and a big nothing happens. So I figure the battery is not charged, so I use the AC power and again nothing :-( I check all the button on the laptop and everything is where it should be but no power DOA :-( One thing that seems odd is the manufacturing date on the laptop is like march 07 can this laptop really be 3 years old and just sitting at amazon's depot? Well I called amazon and told them some BS story about going on a business trip friday and I need a working laptop. So the guy speaks with his manager and lets me know their going to overnight a new one to me at no charge. And they pay for the shipping back for the old one. Which is fine I guess but I did waste a sick day waiting for the laptop which didn't work :-( Has anyone else ever had a DOA product? This is the first time its happened to me...

jeebus you called in sick to play with a notebook that turned out to be DOA

dude 🙁

the only DOA issue I ever has was an old Radeon 8500. A guy in fs/t had just RMAd it, bought a card during the downtime and wanted to sell it...but the freshly RMAd card i got from him was a dud.

He helped me deal with ATI and I had to RMA it twice more to get a good card, what a nightmare that was.
