Working on a *special* project at work that landed me a fully decked IPAQ 3870, with dual PC Card Sled and a Cisco 350 802.11 card. Just to level set, I'm coming from a Casio E-125 Pocket PC. 1st impression is... My god, this thing is a HOG with the dual card sled on it. Take this off & it's completely different PDA. Another thing that strikes me is that this thing just reeks of quality. It feels very well built & constructed compared to my Casio E-125.

Before you guys tell me to ditch the 2 card sled.. sorry no can do, the *special* project requires it :)

After I've had a chance to play with it a bit more, I'll update with more thoughts.

I would like some input on a couple of topics though...

1)Microdrives.. Are you using one & do you like it?
2)Carrying Cases... I'd prefer protection over fashion as I travel alot & don't care to risk the airport goons smashing it.

Questions:

1. How many days can you run off of one battery charge?

2. Is the battery modular (can it be replaced)?

2)Nope :(

Unless your project requires a large storage, go for SD cards.

I normally carry my iPAQ on my belt so I don't know about carrying cases.

The project I'm on is going to require me to stick with the dual PCMCIA sled.. 1 slot for a CISCO Aironet 350 card, and 1 slot for a Symbol RFID reader.

That being said, I've already got the sled & will have one slot open on it the majority of the time. I travel alot & the idea of being able to pop a 1gig drive in the Sled and watch a couple of DIVX movies in the airport is really apealing to me :)
