Heheh! Well they arrived and I was blown away. Never owned anything better than el-cheap $19.95 sony headphones. The Sr-60s totally surpassed my expectations and sound nearly as good as my main amp/cd. The bass response is excellent (didn't even realize headphones could generate believable bass) with the exception of anything < 50 hz which is loose.

The music is warm and crystal clear. I'm hearing instruments I never knew were there before! Hehe. Heaven baby. :)

Question: I've read it's best to "break in" these headphones by feeding them a variety of music for several hours on end...like run 'em overnight a few times. Any truth to that?

pdiddy,

Paid $70 + $5 s/h from hifi.com. 45-day money-back and other perks clinched the deal.

Viperoni,

The bass is unique. The phones don't move, your head doesn't shake yet believable low-end sound is definitely there and the net effect is comparable to a home system. Phones can never touch the sheer power of a 100+ watt amp but I did not expect decent bass at all! Very cool.

Sennheiser 490's here. Half-way decent with my SBLive!, but not loud enough. O.k. also on my Awia X-Trainer port. CD, Again, not loud enough, and somewhat distorted bass. Is suck on my 200w. Pioneer home system. Kicks ass with my $35 Sony SRF-M35 radio!!! Go figure! I just might check out the Grado's. I've read very good reviews.
