Just got my GDM-FW900 24" Sony Monitor and it doesnt work!

I connected the power and the VGA cable to my R9700 and no go! I tried connecting it to my other monitor and it works. The sony just has the blinking orange light and thats it! HELP!!

If the monitor has dual intputs, make sure the right input is selected in the monitors menu.

If that doesn't work, disconnect the power put leave the vga cable in. Turn the computer on and let it boot up. Then turn the power back on the monitor.

Tried both and nothing worked

I called Sony and they guided me through the power on test where you hold the joystick towards the contrast while it turns on and nothing happened! This monitor is totally dead and they are going to replace it

Is the Video Card Resolution set to high for the new Monitor?... Boot up with the old monitor and lower the resolution down to 60Hz and see if it works then... If it does, load Your New Monitors Drivers and check Your specs and set it to the right Rez.

Not dumping on you, really, but I had to laugh when I read your post. I'm typing on a GDM-FW900 right now. I'm guessing you've never used / seen one of these monitors before?

The max resolution on a GDM-FW900 is 2304 x 1440 @ 80 Hz. You show me the videocard that can put that out....I'd like to purchase one.
