Just got my first cellphone at age 33.......... It's not like "I got mail..... YAY", but it's ok I suppose.
I'm on Verizon and it's a Motorola RAZR V3m.

With ringtones, I'm in the dark and was wondering if there's a way to transfer them from the computer to the phone via a micro sd card FREE?

Finding decent quality "free" ringtones........ Is this possible via a certain website? Or do you have to pay Verizon directly like my wife did? My wife already bought some $15.00 in credits. I told her to let me check here first but she did it anyway.

If I knew there was one place that knew about these things, it would be here. Anything else anyone can add about this subject...... please "ring" in!

???

You're 33 and you just got your first cell phone.

Wow. It looks like you've known about the Internet since at least 2/11/2001. What happened? Living under a rock? No friends??

Here's all you'll need to know about your new toy: http://www.howardforums.com/

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Fact is, I "NEVER" needed a cell phone. Plain and simple.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Edit2: Never mind my question, I missed that you're on VZW. You're not using any sounds not purchased through VZW as ringtones, especially not sounds/songs from your MicroSD card. You're pretty much limited to websites and things that send you ringtones through text messages, unless you want to master the arcane art of BitPim.

Edit3: Or, you could always do this. Make sure you read and fully understand EVERY step before you even think about doing it, or you'll break something.

OMG, my head's about to 'splode!

I forgot to mention that you're not going to want to buy any accessories from the Vreizon or TMobile or whatever store. You can get a car charger, data cable, and some other useless thing for like $9 (total) shipped off ebay.

I'm a total girl. I talk on my phone for like 3000 minutes every month, so I buy a car charger for when I'm taking long trips and stuff.

I thought it would be as easy as a pc, but it looks to not be the case. I'll stick with a couple purchased ringtones from Verizon.

The only way I got my ring tones to work on my phone was to send em VIA bluetooth, putting them on my SD card only allowed my to play them threw the music player.

Several months back I edited my wifes phone so it thought it was a v3mm. Then hooked it up with motorola phone tools and moved the files over. Had zero issues.

YES BE SURE and flash to the altel firmware. verizon is notorious for using their stupid red ui crap all over their phones. it sucks...

http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/index.php - sends a text message to your phone with a link inside that downloads the file through the internet. its quite handy and the downloads never expire. of course...you should only use it if you have the internet enabled on your plan.
