Still trying to learn what these numbers mean and how they stack up. Prob. should've started with the 570 I had and then compared to these numbers I guess.

Should I tweak anything first or just do a 2nd run @ stock again?
After running Heaven for some time run the benchmark, don't start it immediately after launching. Also do as Don says and also set the power target to 115%

1228 on the core when boosting is pretty good. Try upping the vram speed some, as that is what will be holding you back the most at that core speed.

Put my settings to this and got the following error when I launched heaven:

D3D11AppWindow::swap_window():device removed

Once it crashed my fan throttled back and I can barely hear it anymore.

When it crashed here was my gpuz:

You hit 1366 boost clock which is why you crashed. Just try +100 core

Max FPS:

Edit: God I suck. If you look at the afterburner screen I forgot to hit "Apply". I'll rerun again later. Jesus...

Hope you can read it. I think I'll take a break and play some d3 for a little bit and fool around with it later lol.

dont try and use someone else's settings. your card is already oced and boosts higher than his out of the box. really peoples settings are useless if they dont show what the actual clocks are.

Here's what i set with my ftw card. 145% tdp with +85 core and +296 memory which gives you a core speed of 1170 and memory at 6800. When my card boosts it will go to 1250 and never lower than 1230

If you want to hold 1250, you'll need to keep the GPU below 70C, which of course requires a pretty high fan setting.

Yeah i know how it works...but the performance difference between 1230 and 1250 is zero. Core speed has very very small gains. Unless you get tons of mhz difference. Memory is where the performance comes from with these cards.

depends on the game. and if the difference between 1230 and 1250 is zero than what is the difference between 1230 and 1210 or 1210 and 1190? :p

Almost nothing in real world. Like when it goes from 1250 to 1230 i dont see my monitoring app show any drop in framerate. I assume that if you could close on 1270+ you would see some gains.

I'm very happy with this FTW card. It's everything I hoped it'd be; runs cool, lower wattage usage, quiet, did i say it runs cool?

What about them?

I think we all know core temp wasn't the issue...just like I told ya. ;)

Well, if running at 1250 is pushing your right over the edge in terms of temps, you might actually get better performance by shooting for 1240, for instance.

P.S. Still waiting on your report on C2Q to IVB. Have you posted that somewhere?

Yeah I did post that, link below.

Sometimes I do get 1240. I'm still not 100% on how Boost really works, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it to go up to 1250 here and only 1240 there (before 70c). It almost never goes over 70c though because I let the fan spin up to keep it down.

Either way, 1230, 1240, 1250...all is good and I cannot complain about the performance one bit.

Here ya go http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=33521789&postcount=1
