Nah, it won't be bad. Just reduce your intake of carbs (candies, breads, pastas, potatoes, rice, corn) and replace all of your cooking oils and spreads with extra virgin olive oil.

Your liver creates the bad cholesterol to bind fungal spores in your blood stream. Many people have systemic fungal infections and never know it (doesn't show up blood tests either). The reason people's cholesterol levels improve so well when they're on Atkins is because of the lack of carbs that feed the fungus. Otherwise logic would tell you Atkins would increase cholesterol. Bad cholesterol from your diet has little effect on your own cholesterol levels, since the digestive system has to break it down anyway.

What? I think you're smoking fungal spores.

Nope, not me! It was a different book called The Fungus Link.

Fausto: If I smoked cigarettes, you would be correct. Because tobacco is cured with yeast and sugar.

It's just something that isn't catching on in the medical community. Everyone is hyped up on antibacterial right now. But antibacterial is made by processing different fungai. Hard to explain why the rise of Asthma, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Psoryosis (sp?), Cholesterol, Migraines, etc. Doctors don't know what causes these things. But many of the medications made for them to treat the symptoms are found to also be powerful antifungals.

Fungal spores aren't detected in blood tests because they look like blood cells. Only way to detect them is to culture for that particular strain.

This must be one of those medical theories that pops up every 10 years or so. My wife had a GP that had her on this weird fungus-flush diet for a while about that long ago.
