Just got my Abit IC7

Just received my Abit IC7.. I currently have a 2.4B SL6RZ that does 190 FSB on my Abit IT7 Max2 v2.. Using this same CPU on the IC7, I can't even get 190 FSB stable.. Boots fine into the OS, can run Sandra memory test, but will not pass 3DMark or Prime95.. Highest stable I'm able to get so far on this IC7 is 167 FSB.. Wonder why I can't do 190FSB like on my Abit IT7 Max v2??

I am running a AOpen AX4C MAX....different board....but

On my "old" ABIT BH7 I could hit 217FSB with an unlocked CPU....

Now on the AOpen AX4C Max (Canterwood) 200FSB is unstable...

I am in the same boat as you right now... I'm still tweaking

Did you try different memory timings in the BIOS? I noticed there are 3:4, 4:5 or even 1:1 for the memory divider. Different chipset might require different settings in the BIOS when it comes to overclocking. Did you try to raise the voltages?

Got my IC7 today; after installing SP1, I rebooted and the thing wouldn't boot; it halts at the first boot screen with the following: "Bios Rom Checksum Error; Keyboard error or no keyboard; detect floppy Drive A, Drive A error; system halted"; it is doing this about 9 of 10 boots; funny thing is on that 10th boot, it will only recognize my 2.4 P4 as a 1.8; I have cleared the cmos about a million times but nothing seems to work; so I guess I'm stuck with a 1.8 for the weekend!

Hmm good question. PJ with the Aopen is the only one I've seen so far with good luck. I want to see how the MSI does.

It looks like I'll be hanging onto the PE until I see a board I like.

Have not tried any other memory ratio except 1:1.. Besides, the only other ratios run the memory lower then the FSB ie 5:4.. Don't think memory is the problem as I'm using Corsair XMS PC3500C2..

It does, but Abit covered it with some white tape.. Besides, there is no LAN chip on the board so no way to get it working.. If you look at the board, you can see the missing CSA Giga LAN chip..

My IC7 arrived today. I'm currently running a BH7 with 2.4@3.3. I'll see if I can match that speed tomorrow, as I've just moved and there are no lights in the room. 🙁
