just opened to box... and to my dismay the stand has a nice fat scratch on it and the place where the stand attaches to the monitor looks "used". the connector chord has some styaphoam (sp?) melted on it pretty wierd. oh well... I will test it out and see if it's ok or not.... I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is bad though....

Gotta love Dell.

Nah, it seems they screw stuff up a ton, but they are also good about exchanges from what i hear.

If you've looked around on forums enough, you should expect to replace your 2005fpw a couple of times before you get a perfect one. I guess that's why you can get them so cheap.

well seems like there are at least 5 dead pixels from what I can tell... any suggestions on the easiest way to get a new one? the funny thing is this was a rev A02 from June... thought they would have fixed these issues :disgust:

The have a 21 day no questions asked return policy with their monitors. Just call them up and they should send you a new one and pay for return shipping on the defective screen. I was lucky and didnt have to do this with my 2405fpw, zero defects.

I got mine Tuesday, and it is great. I want to buy another, but I don't want my wife to get mad at me. She wouldn't understand.

ps:
My Sony S74 is now hooked up to vga, and the colors are not as bright compared to the Dell.

I just got my 2005fpw today.. I bought it from the FS/FT board, I haver owned an LCD before, but I think it's perfect, I've watched a movie on it, done tons of surfing and basically just do what i do. I am loving it 🙂
